Are Enterama Race Events Legal?  YES - they are with Enterama !

Caution! Beware of any Race Night provider who tells you they comply with the 'Lotteries and Amusements Act' - they may be breaking the law, and if they are -  so are you!   Don't take a chance - book Enterama !

The old Lotteries and Amusements Act (under which Race Nights were traditionally run) was repealed and superceded when The Gambling Act 2005 came into force on the 30th September 2007.  Under the new rules, all race nights and lotteries are now officially defined as 'Gambling', and as a result of this change in definition, the rules changed considerably and are now quite complex.

Whereas all 'commercial' gambling activity is now strictly regulated and licenced; the Act permits 'non-commercial' lotteries and gaming where the proceeds are to be applied to a charity or good cause and not for personal or commercial gain. Therefore, we are still able to provide perfectly legal race events for fundraising purposes, as long as we ensure that each element complies with the terms of the new Act.

If you require further information please go to the Gambling Act 2005 page, where we have described the various types of 'non-commercial' gaming and lotteries allowed by the Act, and have given an outline of the different regulations that now apply to each activity, and also the 'Gambling Act Definitions' page. You'll also find some contact addresses on the 'Sources of Information' page.

Or email us at contactus@enterama.com or contact us and we'll do our best to advise you.

We have interpreted the regulations in good faith, but this is not intended to be substitute for professional advice. We strongly suggest that you seek professional advice if you have any doubts about fundraising practices.
